Virtual Academy Middle School is an online school providing accelerated education nationwide. VAMS is a hybrid of self-directed study and live, state of the art learning. Students see, hear and interact with highly qualified teachers every school day. Students give presentations, participate in group discussions and projects, and perform hands-on science lab activities. VAMS provides quality learning in the comfort and safety of home. Who are we?

We are a group of dedicated credentialed educators who believe education can and should be more. After working in the public school system over the last decade, we came to the conclusion that the system is flawed, designed to focus on the lowest achieving students while the curious and gifted students are left on their own. Honors courses are being eliminated across the country and 'Gifted and Talented' programs are disappearing from our public schools. The present system is not designed to produce doctors, engineers or scientists; instead it is designed to produce service sector employees. There is no incentive under current legislation to cultivate the best students, only to keep the lowest from failing. We had a vision of a learning environment that could rise above bureaucracy to actually focus on the child. With that vision in mind we created Virtual Academy Middle School.
